The worst mistake anyone can make in life is to just assume they are “right with God.” Eternity can come in an unannounced instant and there are no make up tests. The Bible teaches to:

Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! (2 Corinthians 13:5)

For this reason, it is crucial that we examine ourselves regularly to insure that our faith is genuine and that we are truly children of God. We can fool others and even ourselves for a time, but God knows the truth and it is that truth that decides where we will spend eternity. The following are ten signs of a true Christian. You may be missing one or two, but if you truly belong to God, your life will be bearing the fruit of most of these and as you study them, the Holy Spirit will convict your heart of the points it is missing.

If you find that very few of these describe you, please, please, please talk to someone in ministry, read the gospel or just get on your knees and talk to God about it. Do not close your eyes tonight before you know you belong to God and your eternity is secure.
