...that your ways may be
known on earth, your salvation among all nations.

Local Missions
Columbia, Illinois & Beyond
Our Students are always
sneaking off to help someone in need. From delivering food
to tearing down sheds, this group loves to help and serve.
Sometimes these missions are planned well in advance.
Sometimes it is a phone call that says, "Hey, someone needs
our help. What are you doing right now?"
Contact Lonnie if you'd like
to be a part of the Local Missions Team.
WARNING!
You will get addicted to helping people!
Christian
Activity Center
East Saint Louis, Illinois
For years our students have
been volunteering at the Christian Activity Center in East
St. Louis, IL (CAC). We currently set aside the first
Tuesday of every month from 3:30-5:30pm for this ongoing
mission.
Children and youth from 6 to
18 years old pour through CAC's doors every weekday at
3:30pm and stay in their care till 8pm. Each child is
offered a healthy after school snack, hot dinner meal,
homework help, computer training, fine arts classes,
recreation, medical care and life enhancement classes.
We go and hang out with those
kids, help them with their home work, play games, and have a
great time.
If you have a Love for Kids
and a Heart for God, this mission may be right up your
alley. Contact Lonnie or any Youth Leader for more
information.
Family Mission
Trip
Chicago, Illinois
Since 2008
Each summer, we go on
mission - family style. From the young to the young at
heart; everybody goes. We do construction projects, Bible
Clubs, Sports & Music Camps, and Prayer Walks.
This is an unforgettable
cross-cultural experience for the whole family. For a
week, we share Jesus with many different people groups, do a
lot of hard work, live in cramped quarters, and return home
changed forever.
What is your family doing
this summer?

What are you doing this
summer?
Since 1993
World Changer's Student video
World Changers is a hands on,
gettin' dirty summer mission trip for Christian Youth. Every
year thousands of youth from around the nation participate
in 100's of week long work projects.
Students in middle school
through college serve alongside each other to impact
communities for the kingdom of God. Projects include
painting houses, replacing roofs, and other refurbishment
construction work.
Their Mission: to provide
Christian youth and adults with opportunities to meet the
physical and spiritual needs of others through practical
learning experiences that teach servanthood and personal
commitment to missions.
Baptists have been sending
adult teams to Bulgaria since 2002. In 2008, the High
School iSalt Team was added. FBC-Columbia sent 4 students on
that first trip and we had eleven students on the 2009
team.
For 3 weeks in the summer, our student team
shares the love and saving power of Jesus Christ
with the people of Bulgaria and they work hand in hand with
other youth to serve throughout the country. Their mission
activities include:
Serving at the Baptist
youth camp,
Teaching through craft,
recreation, & Bible study,
Working in local
orphanages,
Prayer walking,
Helping local
missionaries in their ministries,
Reaching out to the gypsy
population,
Sports camps,
Teaching English classes,
And construction work.
This is a huge commitment and
a lot of work for our students and leaders, but it is well
worth it. It is well known that students grow deeper
and more grounded in their faith while on foreign missions
then any other single event. Everyone works hard
right up until it is time to go, preparing for the trip,
studying the Bulgarian language and culture, learning
missionary skills and raising money to pay for the trip.
